1. Disconnect the power to the unit
2. Remove the lower access panels and check the tray under the dishwasher
(you will probably find it is full of water)
3. Use a towel or a sponge to remove the water
4. There is a float that should stop the operation of the dishwasher and
run the pump if water is in this tray. Check this pump to see if it is
functional
5. Test the dishwasher
6. If there are no leaks from the dishwasher into the pan, check the drain
hose under the sink
7. THE DRAIN HOSE MUST RUN UP TO THE TOP OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THE COUNTERTOP
THEN DOWN TO THE DRAIN. (If the hose is not set up like this, water from the
sink drain will flow into the dishwasher and overfill the tray
*Faults may vary by model. Use this as a general guide.

F2
Note: Also see fan thermal switches
Indicates that oven is over temperature
in one of the following modes within
either a cooking or clean mode of operation.
· Control senses oven temperature above 650 degrees F with the door circuit
in the unlock mode.
· Control senses oven temperature above 935 degrees F with the door in the
locked mode.
· Stalled cooling fan or airflow problem. · Look for welded relay contacts.
(Heating elements on in off mode).
· Look for open thermal switch in lock motor circuit. Switch is normally
closed and will open if area overheats due to fan not operating. Look
for cause - fan thermal switch not closing, fan stalled, etc.
· Look for high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit due to
high contact resistance (poor terminal crimp, deformed terminals, loose
connection) or intermittent solder joint on control or intermittent
oven temperature sensor.
· Look for electrical noise interference in the oven temperature sensor
circuit (Ham radio, cordless phone, etc.).
____________________________________________________________________________________________
F3 - F4
Open oven temperature sensor (circuit) (over 2700 ohms) or, shorted oven
temperature sensor. Could be a result of:
· contamination on terminals
· pinched wire in oven temperature sensor circuit
· cold solder joint on control. · Disconnect power to range and remove
oven temperature sensor connector from control.
· Measure oven temperature sensor resistance at oven temperature sensor
connector (take care not to damage terminals in block) - Should read
1100 ohms at room temperature (approx 72 degrees F).
· Measure each oven temperature sensor lead from connector block to ground.
If shorted, look for pinched or cut wire in oven temperature sensor
circuit.
· Check connector terminals - Look for deformed or corrosion on terminals.
Repair or replace.
If all above is ok replace control.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
F5 Relay safety circuit failure Check oven temperature sensor
circuit for intermittent high
resistance.
· Check lock circuit
· Press Clear/Off and reprogram
control. If code reappears,
replace control
Note: If all above check OK the F5 code can be a result of a momentary loss of power
(Do NOT replace control or lock, check lock circuit)
______________________________________________________________________________________________
FC Problem with door lock circuit such as
pinched wires between control and door
lock switches on motorized lock circuits. Check wiring and test operation
of switches.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
FD Shorted meat probe
Note: Problem can be with the probe or receptacle or meat probe circuit.
· Check probe. Resistance should be 30k ohms to 50k ohms at room temperature.
· Look for pinched wire.
· Look for condensation or contamination of receptacle or nearby installation.

* Here is a simple test that you can do to determine whether the clock or the touchpad
are defective when the display reads F1:

- Disconnect power to the range.
- Gain access to the back of the ERC (electronic range control, or "clock").
- Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire
about 1 ½" to 2" wide.
- Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back
on. Replace any covers removed to gain access to the ERC.
- Turn the power back on to the range.
- Watch for the F-1 and listen for the beep.
- If you get the F-1 and beep, replace the ERC.
- If after approximately 60 Minutes you do not get the F-1 fault, replace the
touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock control as one part so
F1 = bad clock control.
Warning: If you do not feel comfortable doing this test or making this repair
please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

THERMADOR
Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes starting with an E
If an error code appears in the cook mode window
Your oven is equipped with an extremely reliable and accurate electronic control.
On the rare occasion that something occurs that causes a malfunction, an error
message will appear in the oven selector window.
Some errors (E1, E9, E11, E12, and E13) must be cleared by turning off the oven
at the circuit breaker and then turning it back on. When an error remains displayed
steadily in the off position, after attempting to clear the error, a service call
is required.
Have the error code available when you call for service. This will help service
determine the problem.

Sud SUDS LOCK (Overdose of Detergent
detected during the Wash Cycle) The motor control unit senses a
suds lock condition by analyzing
the current draw on the
drive motor. If "Sud" is displayed
a potential suds lock is detected.
This may signify a bad
pump, an extra heavy load,
excessive detergent,
or excessive suds.
If too much detergent was used,
run the unit through a Rinse/Spin
cycle, then a Normal
cycle, without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the

FL Flood Condition FL flashes if
any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when
excessive water in
the tub causes the overfill
switch to trip.
The control must realize that
the trip was due
to an overfill condition
instead of a suds
lack condition in order for
FL to be displayed

With an overfill condition,
the beeper repeats
a warning every 10 seconds
with no time-out.

include:
· Conformal coating on serial
communications
pins between the machine
controller and
motor controller. After
disconnecting power
to the unit, try scraping this
coating off
the pins.
· Check the resistance values
between the
serial communications pins
with the connectors in place.
Make sure the harness
does not have a bad connection.
· Check the quick disconnect at
the motor terminal. The drive
motor must be hooked up
properly or a CE error will occur.

display either CA for average current
limit trip or Cl for instantaneous
current limit trip. Average current trip occurs if
there is a 2
second average of current draw
greater than
5.55 amps at the motor windings.
Instantaneous current trip occurs
if there is a spike of 26 amps
instantly at the motor
windings.
This may signify problems with
the drive motor, thermal
protector, or motor controller. Over-loading the
unit may cause
this problem.

Sr Stuck Relay Sr signifies a failure
of the relay in the closed position.
With this failure, power to the
motor controller cannot be turned
off by the machine controller.
The machine control board may have a
bad relay and may need to be replaced.
Check pins 1 and 5 of P16 of the
machine controller and pins 1 and 2
of P1 of the motor controller. This
should have AC line voltage when the
motor controller is powered. Press STOP/CANCEL to clear
the display.
